I love this Melissa and Doug Vending Machine, but it didn't match my room, so I decided to give the machine a makeover.

Painting Instructions:
Start by setting your Canvas Drop Cloth on the floor and putting the Melissa and Doug Vending Machine, Rust-Oleum Gold Spray Paint, Rust-Oleum White Spray Paint, Masking Paper, and Painters Tape on the drop cloth.

Now unbox the Melissa and Doug Vending Machine and put Masking Paper on the front plastic screen. Secure the paper with Painters Tape.

Start by using the Rust-Oleum Gold Spray Paint and spraying it on the buttons and the coin dispenser.

Now spray the bottom of the vending machine with Rust-Oleum White Spray Paint.

Now open up the collection door of the Melissa and Doug Vending Machine, then put the cardboard behind the door. Then spray Rust-Oleum White Spray Paint on the collection door.

Now, allow 24 hours of drying time before spray painting anymore.
After 24 hours, use Painters Tape to tape up the buttons and coin dispenser, and fold the Painters Tape and slide it into the top hole where the sign originally went.

Use the Rust-Oleum White Spray Paint and paint the whole vending machine.

Now open the vending machine and paint the pattern on the front of the door. Use cardboard to block the dispenser area of the Melissa and Doug Vending Machine.

Let the paint dry for 24 hours and then remove the Painters' Tape and Masking Paper.
Tip: If there is any paint on the plastic, remove it carefully with a cotton ball and nail polish remover.
Decoration Instructions:
White Covers
To make the white covers that cover the colored labels in the Melissa and Doug Vending Machine, measure and cut the White Cardstock to size before slipping the cover into the label area. Use a Paper Cutter for optimal results.
Cricut Label Instructions
Start by turning on your Cricut Maker 4 or other Cricut machine and going to Design Space.
I used the font La La Luxes in font sizes 40 and 55. I used 40 for the buttons and 55 for the product labels.
Buttons
Start by making your design on Design Space
Take out your Cricut mat and Cricut Tools
Cut your White Vinyl to size and attach the vinyl to the mat.
Select the matte vinyl setting and load the vinyl.
After the cut is done, unload the vinyl and take the vinyl off the mat.
Before weeding, cut each number out individually.
Weed each number.
Apply transfer tape on each number. Use a Scraper to attach the vinyl to the tape.
Put the vinyl on each button and use the Scraper to attach the vinyl to the button.
10. Peel the transfer tape off.
Product Labels
Start by making your design on Design Space (Optional to add an arrow for the change area).
Take out your Cricut mat and Cricut Tools
Cut your Gold Vinyl to size and attach the vinyl to the mat.
Select the matte vinyl setting and load the vinyl.
After the cut is done, unload the vinyl and take the vinyl off the mat.
Before weeding, cut each label out individually.
Weed each label.
Apply transfer tape on each label besides the arrow. Use a Scraper to attach the vinyl to the tape.
Take the white covers and draw two lines on the back that line up with the three sections.
Now, remove the white covers.
Center the labels and use the Scraper to attach the labels to the paper.
Remove the transfer tape from the labels.
Erase pencil marks
Put all of the white covers back into the vending machine.
Center the A, B, and C letters with the middle button and use the Scraper to attach the vinyl onto the machine.
Remove the transfer tape from the labels.
Take the arrow and peel it off the paper. Attach it near the coin dispenser area.
Gold Borders
I used leftover Gold Vinyl and a Paper Cutter to make a border. All you need to do is pick a width for your border and cut the vinyl out. It is so simple, but it elevates the vending machine.

Mirror
The Mini Gold Mirror was a great way to hide the velcro on one of the sides of the vending machine. I took some Double-Sided Foam Tape to attach the Mini Gold Mirror without damaging the paint, but it still sticks and adds an element to the machine.
